Continuing its drive against school vehicles not obeying road safety rules, the district administration and the police on Tuesday issued challans to 71 vehicles and impounded 22 vehicles.

In Muktsar subdivision, 42 vehicles were challaned and 12 impounded on Tuesday. Similarly, in Gidderbaha sub-division, 17 vehicles were challaned and seven impounded. Further, in Malout subdivision, 12 vehicles were challaned and three impounded.

In the last two days, 146 school vehicles have been challaned and 27 impounded in Muktsar district. The SDMs are visiting schools along with their staff to conduct inspection. Besides, traffic cops too have been engaged in this drive.
