A person was shot dead by his cousin during a fight over some issue at Thamangarh village in the district on Monday.

According to information, Baba Paramanand and residents of Thamangarh village had organised the 6th Cosco Cricket Tournament. On the last day of the tournament, Taranpal Singh of Thamangarh and Gurjit Singh of Talwandi Sabo were the chief guests. While sitting on the stage, they entered into a dispute, following which they took out their revolvers and fired at each other.

While Taranpal Singh died as a bullet hit his chest, Gurjit Singh suffered injuries.

The police reached the spot and initiated probe.

The duo had also engaged in a scuffle a few days ago during a blood donation camp at the village.
