Two cousins have locked horns in ward No. 42 in the Bathinda MC poll. As former councillor Bant Singh Sidhu is contesting on an SAD ticket, his cousin Sukhraj Singh Aulakh is contesting on a Congress ticket.

Bant Singh Sidhu is contesting for the second time. His wife is a former councillor from here. Sukhraj Singh Aulakh is contesting the MC poll for the first time.

Both are not making any personal comments against each other and are banking on the development works done in the ward. Aulakh is associated with the Congress for the past 10 years and is asking for votes on the development works done by Finance Minister Manpreet Badal, whereas Sidhu is associated with the SAD and asking for votes on the name of work done during the SAD-BJP government. Aulakh says the SAD has failed to get any work done.
