Eye on 2022 Assembly poll, AAP intensifies activities

After a landslide victory in the Delhi Assembly poll, leaders of the AAP have intensified their activities in the region eyeing Punjab Vidhan Sabha 2022 elections. The AAP has opened its district office at Ghorewala chowk here. An NRI, Sardul Singh, has given his building for AAP office in the city few days back.

Earlier, AAP’s Bathinda urban and rural office is situated in Bharat Nagar and now AAP has two offices in the city. Few claim that this is also due to infighting among the local cadre of the party. Moreover, a rush of ticket aspirants is also increasing and they have started working among people to strengthen their claim for the ticket.

Moreover, even party leaders, who had left the party after the 2017 Assembly elections loss, are praising Arvind Kejriwal for this third historic win in Delhi. Deepak Bansal, who contested on AAP ticket unsuccessfully from Bathinda urban assembly constituency and after the election, he had quitted the party to go with Sukhpal Singh Khaira’s Punjab Ekta Party (PEP).

Even party cadre is holding meetings with the public in their area and they are convincing people that like Delhi and AAP will form the government in Punjab as well in the next assembly election. They are claiming that people are fed up from both Congress and SAD-BJP, they will support only AAP.

Amrit Lal Aggarwal, president, AAP Bathinda Urban, said “We have Bathinda urban and rural assembly segments office at Bharat Nagar in the city, were we hold our meetings.”

Navdeep Singh Jeeda, district president AAP said “We have opened party district office at Ghorewala chowk in the city, AAP MLA Prof Rupinder Kaur Ruby has her Bathinda rural office at Bharat Nagar.”
