A police team from Kathua district (J&K) visited Bathinda to investigate an incident in which a law student was injured when a bomb that he was allegedly assembling exploded on September 10.

Gurpreet Singh of Jeeda village in Bathinda was planning to visit Kathua, J&K district that borders Punjab.

The Kathua police also visited the AIIMS, Bathinda, two days ago, where Gurpreet and his father were undergoing treatment. Officials also inspected the site of the explosion and sought details from the Punjab Police regarding the material used in the bomb.

According to police sources, the accused might have planned to visit Kathua after identifying a target. “However, the Punjab Police are in constant touch with us on the issue,” sources added.
