The NSS and RRC units of the SSD Women’s Institute of Technology on Thursday organised a workshop on meditation under the anti-drug campaign run of the state government. The workshop was attended by more than 200 students.

Narinder Anand and Shweta from Youth Empowerment Group of Amrita University, Kerala, were the keynote speakers. They delivered talks on the benefits of meditation.

Shweta said: “Meditation helps not only in relieving stress but plays a significant role in increasing concentration and strength as well. Narinder Anand laid emphasis on the significance of visualisation. Students were told as to how drugs, anger and fear exerted negative effects on personality. Students also took part in a meditation session.

Dr Neeru Garg, principal of the SSDWIT and Dr Parminder Kaur Tanghi, principal of SSD Girls’ College, thanked the organisers for the event.
