The Malout (Sadar) police have booked liquor contractors for trespassing into a house and allegedly opening fires in Khunan Kalan village on Monday.

Complainant Sukhchain Singh told the police that Gurpinder Singh of Muktsar, Manish Sharma of Udekaran village, Sukhvir Singh of Bhangchari village, Gurjant Singh of Sohangarh village and seven to eight unidentified persons entered his house around 4 pm on Monday.

“Neither the village chowkidar nor any policeman was accompanying them. These persons also opened fire in the air later,” he said.

The police have registered a case under Sections 336, 506, 148 and 149 of the IPC and Sections 25, 27, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act. The suspects are, however, yet to be arrested. — TNS
