Truck crushes 24-year-old woman to death in Bathinda

A 24-year-old woman, Rajni, died in a fatal accident at Balla Ram Nagar Chowk on the Barnala Bypass road on Tuesday evening.

Rajni was riding an Activa when it collided with a car, and she was subsequently crushed by a truck. She died instantly.

Naujawan Welfare Society Bathinda volunteers, Sahib Singh and Vishal Chauhan, arrived with an ambulance and, after police formalities, transported the body to Civil Hospital.

The deceased has been identified as Rajni, daughter of Ramesh Kumar from Kheta Singh Basti. Her family staged a sit-in protest at Balla Ram Nagar Chowk.

SHO Harjot Singh assured protesters that strict action would be taken against the truck driver. The police have taken the truck and driver into custody and initiated an investigation.
