Daaman Thind Bajwa, spokesperson of the Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee (PPCC), and Harmandev Bajwa, secretary of the PPCC, distributed sanction letters and cheques of development fund for villages in the Sunam block. The funds, amounting to Rs1.14 crore, have been released as the second instalment of the 14th Finance Commission. The maximum amount of 10.85 lakh has been bagged by Sheron village.

“We have distributed cheques for the development of villages. We have directed officials concerned to ensure transparency in the utilisation of funds,” said Daaman.

“Since the formation of the Congress government, Sunam has been getting required funds for development. During the 10 year rule of the SAD-BJP, Sunam remained neglected,” said Harman Bajwa.
