The case was registered in 2010, and the accused had been continuously eluding police custody.

Superintendent of Police Dr Amrita Duhan said that the arrested accused is Parvinder Singh, a resident of Prem Nagar, Anupgarh.

A report was filed by a man at the Anupgarh police station on March 13, 2010, alleging that Parvinder Singh had not married his daughter but fraudulently obtained a fake marriage certificate from the Arya Samaj Mandir in Delhi.
