A workshop on AIDS awareness was organised on the premises of SSD Girls College of Education under the guidance of Principal Dr Anu Malhotra and nodal officer of Red Ribbon Club Maninder Kaur and NSS unit member Shikha.

The keynote speaker was community AIDS educator Narinder Kumar Bassi. The principal welcomed the guests by bouquets. Bassi discussed life skills and AIDS. He said the character was of prime importance for the students and they should follow self-discipline if they wanted to become successful in their life. She highlighted various causes and preventative measures of AIDS. Students of Science Club of the college presented a short play depicting various ways of spreading AIDS among the community.

On the occasion, SSD Girls’ College Principal Dr Parminder Kaur Tanghi, SSDWIT Principal Dr Neeru Garg and all staff members were present. The president of the college, Sanjay Garg, appreciated the efforts of students. — TNS
