India’s emerging position as a global player in air freight and cargo service market got a boost with Air India SATS Airport Services Private Limited (AISATS), a global airport services management company, launched the AISATS BLR Logistics Park at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru.

Positioned as one of the largest on-airport logistics parks in South India, constructed with an investment of Rs 200 crores, the facility was inaugurated, with a promise of strengthening India’s logistics and cargo infrastructure.

The park will also give impetus to the growth of the airport, which is the third busiest in India, accounting for 40% of the South India’s total air cargo volumes and achieving its highest-ever annual cargo tonnage of 5,02,480 MT in FY25.

With this logistics park, the airport authorities aim to handle 1 million metric tonnes of cargo by 2030.

Amid the trade war between USA and China, India stands to gain by presenting itself as an alternative. Along with strategic advantage, it also takes lead with a developing network of global airports, which is conducive for faster cargo flow, especially for industries such as pharmaceuticals, electronics, textiles and e-commerce.

Spread across 8 acres, the park is a cluster of three distinct buildings. A two-level main warehouse offering more than 2,40,000 sq ft of warehousing, a pay-per-use public storage space for MSMEs, Customs House Agents, logistics companies and office space. As value added services, AISATS will also provide trucking services to ensure faster, economical and seamless movement of cargo.
