Ltd., a pioneer in safe and sustainable ship recycling, has been awarded the prestigious Swachh Samudra Ship Recycling Excellence Award at the 75th Anniversary Commemorative Celebration of the Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping), Mumbai. The award ceremony, held at the iconic Bharat Ratnam - Mega Common Facilitation Centre, SEEPZ SEZ, Mumbai, recognized the company’s exemplary commitment to international standards of green and safe ship recycling.
This honour marks a significant moment not just for Bansal Ship Breakers, but for the entire Indian ship recycling industry, which is gaining global recognition for its shift toward responsible, sustainable, and future-ready practices.
Founded in Alang, Gujarat, Mr. Kapoorchand Karamchand Bansal laid the foundation of the Bansal Group with resilience, foresight, and a deep sense of responsibility towards community and environment. His vision is carried forward by his sons, Rubal Bansal and Bharat Bansal, who have transformed the company into a leader in global-standard ship recycling. Rubal Bansal, Managing Director of Bansal Ship Breakers Pvt. Ltd., has been instrumental in steering the company towards compliance with the Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships (HKC) standards. Under his leadership, the company also became among the first ship recyclers in India to secure ISO 50001 (Energy Management) and ISO 55001 (Asset Management) certifications, setting new industry benchmarks.
