Community Health Initiative at Bawlia Khurd
Indore, September 2025: The Index Department of Physiotherapy and Paramedical Sciences, Malwanchal University, Indore, successfully organized a one-day Cancer Prevention Awareness Camp at Bawlia Khurd, Nemawar Road, under the campaign “Empowered Family, Healthy Woman.” The initiative aimed to educate the rural community about cancer prevention and overall health management, providing essential healthcare services to underserved populations. The program was conducted under the guidance of Index Group Chairman Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Vice Chairman MayankRaj Singh Bhadoria, and Principal Dr. Reshma Khurana. More than 60 community members benefitted from free health check-ups, consultations, and counseling during the camp.
Spreading Awareness on Cancer and General Health
Medical experts and the physiotherapy team shared vital information on cancer prevention, emphasizing the importance of regular health check-ups, a balanced diet, physical activity, and avoidance of tobacco and alcohol. Special focus was placed on women’s health, particularly early detection of breast and cervical cancer.
Addressing Musculoskeletal Health Issues
Alongside cancer awareness, the camp addressed common musculoskeletal issues such as back pain, cervical pain, shoulder, and knee problems. Physiotherapy students provided personalized exercise guidance and treatment recommendations, helping villagers adopt healthier and more active lifestyles.
Guidance by Experts, Support from Students
The camp was efficiently supervised by Dr. Amit Nagar, Dr. Sakshi Rajak, and Dr. Urvashi, with the active participation of over 50 physiotherapy students. Principal Dr. Reshma Khurana highlighted that Index College of Physiotherapy regularly conducts such outreach programs to bridge healthcare gaps in rural areas. She reiterated, “The foundation of an empowered family lies in a healthy woman,” which is the guiding vision of this ongoing campaign.

Chairman Suresh Singh Bhadoria and Vice Chairman Mayank Raj Singh Bhadoria lauded the efforts, noting that such initiatives play a crucial role in enhancing rural healthcare awareness and empowering women through health education.
