RBI to take call on further rate cut today

Mumbai: Reserve Bank Governor Sanjay Malhotra will announce the third bi-monthly monetary policy of this fiscal on Wednesday amid expectations of pause on interest rate after three consecutive reduction totalling 100 basis points. Experts are of the opinion that the RBI may go in for a status quo this time and wait for more macro data.

Rs revisits all-time low; ends 22p weaker

Mumbai: The rupee revisited its all-time low level and ended with a loss of 22 paise at 87.88 against the US dollar on Tuesday, as risk-off sentiment deepened after US President Donald Trump renewed threats to raise tariffs on Indian goods over New Delhi’s continued purchases of Russian oil. Forex traders said the rupee is likely to slide further.
