Among the hottest selling models of the German luxury carmaker in Punjab is the G-Wagon. The age profile of the customer has come down to an average of 41 years as compared to 50 a few years back. Chandigarh, which is the second biggest market for the company in Punjab, has shown a preference for the Maybach variants, though sales growth in the City Beautiful was flat in 2024.

This was stated by the Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes Benz India, Santosh Iyer, during an interview with The Tribune here today. Of the 2000 luxury cars sold in Punjab last year, 900 were different models of Mercedes Benz — taking the company share in the luxury car segment to 48 per cent, he added.

It may be mentioned that Mercedes had launched three new EVs last year.
