Chandigarh: The office of the Additional Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ludhiana, recently held an interactive session on export-related issues in association with the Federation of Indian Export Organisation. Suvidh Shah, Joint DGFT, said, “In today’s scenario, it is important the trade should start making efforts for import substitution so that we can replace products imported from other countries, especially from China, with Indian products.” “Punjab, especially Ludhiana, is a traditional hub of machinery production and it can compete with Chinese machinery,” he added. — TNS
