Russia has started importing bananas from India after a spat with its long-time supplier Uruguay which will transfer its Russian-origin arms to Ukraine, allegedly under American instructions.

The first batch of bananas from India was shipped to Russia in January and the next is planned for February-end, said Rosselkhoznadzor, the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision.
