Mumbai: The Sensex and Nifty snapped their six-session rally to close marginally lower on Thursday as investors booked profit in banking, finance and energy counters ahead of the RBI’s policy decision. Rupee skids 25 paise to 79.40 against US dollar

GAIL Q1 profit rises 51% on margin boost

GAIL (India) Ltd on Thursday reported a 51% jump in its June quarter net profit on the back of bumper margins from gas marketing. It posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 3,250.95 crore. Turnover more than doubled to Rs 38,033.30 crore in the April-June quarter, from Rs 17,702.43 crore a year ago, the filing showed.
