Having lost their case twice before the Supreme Court, telecom companies today requested the Supreme Court to allow them to negotiate a new schedule with the DoT for payment of Rs 1.47 lakh crore AGR dues ordered to be paid by January 23.

A Bench headed by Chief Justice of India SA Bobde agreed to list next week the fresh pleas filed by Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea, Tata Teleservices and others after several senior advocates, including Abhishek Manu Singhvi and CA Sundaram requested urgent listing of the matter.

“We are not disputing the payment to be made by us rather we want working out of fresh schedule of payment,” Sundaram told the Bench.
