Struggling Renault cuts 15,000 jobs worldwide

Struggling French carmaker Renault on Friday announced 15,000 job cuts worldwide as part of a 2 billion-euro cost-cutting plan over three years. Renault said on Friday that nearly 4,600 jobs will be cut in France in addition to more than 10,000 in the rest of the world. AP

Bank of India reduces lending rate by 25 bps

Bank of India (BoI) on Friday announced a reduction of its marginal cost of funds-based lending rate (MCLR) by 25 basis points across all tenors, effective June 1. The revised one-year MCLR will be 7.70% as against 7.95% earlier, the bank said. PTI

Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers up

The All-India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers for April has increased by three points and stood at 329, according to the Union Labour Ministry. The maximum upward pressure in the current index came from food group contributing ( ) 2.43 percentage points to the total change. TNS
