‘0001’ fetches highest-ever bid of Rs 36.43 lakh

The much sought-after fancy registration number, “0001”, of the CH01-DA series has fetched the highest-ever bid of Rs 36.43 lakh against the reserve price of Rs 50,000 at an e-auction of the Registering and Licensing Authority (RLA) that concluded today.

The RLA conducted the e-auction of the new series numbers from 0001 to 9999 along with the leftover fancy/special numbers of the previous series from August 19 to 22. With the auction of a total of 577 registration numbers, the RLA fetched the highest-ever revenue of Rs 4.08 crore.

Meanwhile, “0003” received the second highest bid of Rs 17.84, followed by “0009”, which was sold for Rs 16.82. The other numbers, “0005” (Rs 16.51), “0007” (Rs 16.50), “0002” (Rs 13.80) and “9999” (Rs 10.25) also got a good response.

Pradhuman Singh, Director, Transport Department, said all seven numbers received the highest ever bids in their respective categories so far and the RLA earned a record profit of Rs 4.08 crore, the highest in any auction so far.

The second highest bid of Rs 31 lakh had been received for “0001” of CH01-CZ series in May this year. In the auction of this series, the RLA had earned Rs 2.94 crore.

The third highest-ever bid of Rs 26.7 lakh was received for “0001” of the “CH01-AP” series, followed by Rs 25 lakh for the same number of the CH01-CY series.
