Since the train’s occupancy fell short of 554 seats, the UT Administration decided against running another train, which was scheduled for Monday.

The Administration had planned two Shramik trains for Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, scheduled for Friday and Monday from Chandigarh to Patna (Bihar) with stoppage at Saharanpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Hardoi, Lucknow, Raibareilly, Amethi, Pratapgarh, Varanasi, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhayaya Junction (Mugal Sarai), Buxar and Ara stations.

An official stated the Administration had made several efforts for optimum utilisation of train capacity. “In the past two days, more than 11,000 registered persons were contacted through telephone calls and SMS for the Friday’s train to Uttar Pradesh.”
