1 killed as car jumps red light, hits auto at Transport light point in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, July 1
One person was killed and another injured after the auto they were travelling in was hit by a car that reportedly jumped the red light at the Transport light point in the wee hours of today.
According to the police, the auto, carrying fruits, was heading from Tribune Chowk towards the vegetable market in Sector 26 when a speeding Hyundai Xcent, heading towards the Kala Gram light point, jumped the red light and hit the auto from the left side. Auto driver Harish and Anish, who was in the auto, were seriously injured. They were taken to the GMSH-16 where Anish was declared brought dead. The car driver, Raj Kumar of Paonta Sahib, HP, was arrested. He was later released on bail. — TNS
