Health Inspector Dinesh Chaudhary said some of the residents had complained of vomiting and loose motions. They were given medicines at the dispensary and were being monitored. On July 10, the residents had staged a protest against officials concerned for dirty tap water supply for the past some days due to which people were falling ill.

The residents alleged that chlorination was not done and there was a risk of spreading waterborne diseases in the area.

Residents of Hillview Society, Peer Muchalla, had also complained that they were getting dirty tap water for the past few days. Municipal Corporation officials have been informed repeatedly about it, but no action was

being taken. They complained that sewage was contaminating the drinking water supply. Foul smell was emanating from the tap water.

They said chlorination of water and monitoring of tube well water supply should to be done regularly in the rainy season.
