10 workers injured as roof collapses in Panchkula

As many as 10 construction workers were trapped under the rubble after the roof of an under-construction showroom at Barona village of Raipur Rani collapsed on Tuesday evening. The injured were admitted to the Civil Hospital, Sector 6, for treatment.

The incident took place at around 3 pm on Tuesday when construction workers — Ghanshyam Sakal Dev, Narain and others were working at the site. Narain said, “Around 8 to 10 individuals were carrying out construction work when the roof of the showroom came down crashing. The locals and other workers came to our rescue. They pulled all the workers out and shifted us to the Civil Hospital,” he said. The workers suffered injuries on their arms, legs, chest and head. The hospital staff carried-out their check-up, X-ray and other tests.
