Eleven of 42 milk samples in which water was detected to the extent of 13 to 21 per cent were found adulterated. Other than water, no harmful substance was found in the samples.

Darshan Singh, dairy technologist, Punjab Dairy Development Board, stated this during milk consumers awareness campaign organised under the Tandarust Punjab Mission here today.

“Milk samples can be tested in all departmental offices, besides camps. In order to organise such camps, district-level offices or helpline No. 0172-2219276 can be contacted,” he added. Earlier, Kehar Chand, a social worker, inaugurated the camp. — TNS
