Only 12 sales deeds were registered in the Mohali tehsil office after two days of strike by the revenue officials.

To clear the backlog, the sub-registrar and joint sub-registrar offices were open on Saturday in the district.

Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain said the decision was taken to clear the backlog of the registrations of sales deeds, GPA, transfer deeds etc, adding that the sub-registrar and joint sub-registrar offices be open from 9 am to 5 pm in all tehsils and sub-tehsils. Although it was observed that very few visitors approached these offices today.

The tehsil offices at Mohali, Dera Bassi, and Kharar and the sub-tehsil offices at Zirakpur, Banur, Gharuan, and Majri offered services to the residents regarding the registration of documents.

Revenue officials, who went on strike yesterday, have suspended it till December 5.
