16 rounded up, 13 fined during cordon and search op at Kharar

In total, 16 suspicious persons were rounded up and taken to the police station for further questioning, 13 traffic challans were issued and three vehicles were impounded.

Sixteen people were rounded up for questioning and 13 others challaned after police on Sunday launched a cordon and search operation at Jalvayu Tower Society, Sector 125, Sunny Enclave Kharar.

The operation was carried out by three superintendents of police (SP), 11 deputy superintendents of police (DSP), 17 inspectors/station house officers (SHO) and 100 other police personnel.

Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Deepak Pareek said suspicious-looking people were questioned by police teams at check-posts set up at all gates of the Jalvayu Tower Society. Checks were also conducted at the flats. Besides, vehicles parked in the society’s parking lot were also checked.

In total, 16 suspicious persons were rounded up and taken to the police station for further questioning, 13 traffic challans were issued and three vehicles were impounded.

“The main objective of the cordon and search operation is to take action against the anti-social elements/suspicious persons and instill a sense of security among the general public,” he further added.
