Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik today presented appointment letters to 16 newly appointed teachers.

The DC said the Punjab Government had selected them in a transparent manner and handed them a big responsibility as teachers were the nation builders.

She called upon the appointees to come up to the expectations of the government and society.

The newly appointed teachers thanked the government and said they would do their duty with dedication and utmost sincerity and loyalty.

They said they would strive to make a healthy society.

Earlier, Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla, in an online address, said the newly appointed teachers had been trained at Indian School of Business, Mohali.

At present, Punjab has become a leading state in the field of education, he said, adding that education played an important role in the progress of any country, state and society.

District Education Officer Prabhasimaran Kaur said due to the reforms made by the Punjab Government in education, the number of students in government schools had increased.

District Congress president Subhash Sood, ADC Rajesh Dhiman, Deputy District Education Officer Didar Singh Mangat and other officials were present on the occasion. TNS
