As many as 2,300 students of the 2017-18 and 2018-19 batches were conferred degrees during the convocation of Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Sector 32, today. The Punjab Governor and UT Administrator, Banwarilal Purohit, awarded the degrees to the students.

Purohit congratulated the college society for entering into the golden jubilee year and complimented the college fraternity for earning proud distinctions over the years. While congratulating the students, the Governor stated that the words of Gautam Buddha, “Atma Dipo Bhava” (Be a light unto yourself) have become extremely relevant during the present times and urged them to stay adaptable, be your own light and inculcate a sense of social responsibility for a better world. He emphasised the importance of New Education Policy 2020 for making the students more flexible, adaptable and interdisciplinary in nature.

Upkar Krishan Sharma, president, GGDSD College Society, and Principal Ajay Sharma also attended the function. The annual report highlighting the achievements of the college in various fields of academic, sports, cultural and social services was also presented.
