The city today reported 332 new coronavirus cases. This is for the second consecutive day that that UT has witnessed over 300 cases. The tally now stands at 6,704, 37 per cent of which are still active.

Chandigarh also reported two deaths today, taking the toll to 77.

A 30-year-old man from Dhanas died at the Government Medical College and Hospital in Sector 32 today. He had tubercular meningitis and hemiparesis, a condition characterised by weakness of a one side of the body.

The second fatality was of a 76-year-old woman from Khuda Jassu, who was diabetic and had hypertension. She died at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research today. — TNS
