Two persons reportedly ended their lives by hanging in the city today.

A 25-year-old youth, who was employed with the Verka Milk Bar in Sector 17-E, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at a public toilet near the booth.

The deceased, identified as Pramod, was rushed to the GMSH-16 where he was declared brought dead. The police received a call about the incident at around 4:35 am. The victim used his muffler to take the extreme step.

In another incident, a labourer hanged himself to death at an under-construction building of the Community Centre in Sector 35 where his brother was putting up.

The deceased has been identified as Parmeshwar Dyal, 36, a resident of Chitrakoot (Uttar Pradesh). He is survived by his wife and three children. Dyal was employed at a construction site in Eco City and was living in Mullanpur.

The police said the labourer was under depression following the death of his brother recently.

The incident came to light around 8:30 am when workers found Dyal hanging at the Sector 35 site.

The police said he, along with his elder brother, was to leave for his village soon and was staying with him at the site.

The police rushed him to the hospital where he was declared brought dead. The matter was being investigated, said the police. — TNS
