The police have arrested two youths for allegedly snatching a phone from a Sector-15 resident within just 24 hours.

According to the complaint filed by Rahul Kumar, a native of Patna, Bihar, the incident occurred on January 21 when he was walking towards his house from the Budanpur Park in Sector 16. The accused allegeldy pushed him and snatched his mobile phone before fleeing from the spot.

A case has been registered against the accused at the Sector 14 police station under Section 304, 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Sub-Inspector Chirangilal posted at Sector-16 outpost arrested both the accused from near the Budan Park itself.

The accused have been identified as Ankit and Manjeet both residents of Moli Jangra Chandigarh. The investigation revealed that the accused were trying to sell the stolen phone when they were caught by the police.

Notably, three cases, including those under the Excise Act, are already registered against Ankit in Chandigarh and Panchkula.
