Mohali, June 5

The police today arrested two suspects involved in several cases of theft in houses, a temple and a gurdwara here.

The suspects have been identified as Suresh Kumar, alias Mangli, and Bunty, both residents of Amb Sahib Colony, Phase 11, here. The duo was involved in several cases of theft in houses, a temple and a gurdwara in Sector 68 in the recent past.

A total of 18 silverware items, Rs30,000 stolen from the cashbox of Maa Durga temple in Sector 68 and a CCTV hard disk stolen from Gurdwara Ravidas, Sector 68, were recovered from them.

A case under Sections 380 and 457 of the IPC was registered against them at the Phase 8 police station on June 2. The duo was produced before a court on June 3, which remanded them in one-day police custody.
