Zirakpur, November 9

The police have arrested two suspects, including a woman, in connection with a theft at a housing society in Zirakpur and recovered 31-tola gold from them. The suspects have been identified as a native of Surat, Satinderpal Singh, alias Sahib; and Simranpreet Kaur, a native of Muktsar. Both were residing in Badal Colony.

The police recovered a scooter, a hammer and an iron blade used in the crime. The complainant, Neeraj Saharan of Royal Estate, stated that he locked his house in the society on October 27 and left for Ganganagar. On October 31, his neighbours informed him that the back door of his house was open. Lockers were broken and gold ornaments were missing from the cupboards. — TNS
