The police recovered multiple stolen items, including three motorcycles, a Honda Activa scooter and two mobile phones.
The accused have been identified as Satish Kumar (32), a patient caregiver from Kandala village, in Mohali, and Anil Kumar, alias Linda (25), an electrician from Jagatpura village, Mohali. A under Sections 304(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered on August 2, following a complaint by Yashoda Devi (54), a resident of Sector 49D. She reported that on the evening of July 29, while she was out for a walk near CHB Flats, Sector 49, two unidentified youths riding a Honda Activa snatched her smartphone and fled. She could not note down the number of the vehicle, but was able to describe the appearance of the snatchers.
During investigation, the police recovered the stolen smartphone, along with another mobile, and four two-wheelers, suspected to be stolen.
Accused Satish Kumar is a repeat offender with a known criminal history, including an FIR under Section 379, IPC, registered at PS-34, Chandigarh, and another e-FIR under Sections 379 and 411, IPC.
