Chandigarh, August 6
A 30-year-old UPSC aspirant reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his rented accommodation in Sector 37 here today. No suicide note was recovered from the spot.
The victim has been identified as Ankit Chahal, a native of Sonipat, Haryana.
Ankit’s friend found him hanging in the washroom, following which he informed the police.
The police reached the spot and shifted the body to a mortuary at the Government Multi Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, Chandigarh.
Meanwhile, an inquest proceeding has been initiated into the matter at the Sector 39 police station.
In another incident, a 29-year-old UPSC aspirant committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Sector 38 here this evening.
The victim has been identified as Simran. The girl was alone at the house when she took the extreme step.
On returning home, the victim’s family saw her hanging, following which they informed the police. The police have initiated an inquest proceeding into the matter.
