  • The timings for staging Ramlila will be from 8 pm to midnight
  • The sound system is to be used in line with Environment Department instructions
  • The organisers will submit a list of 25 able-bodied volunteers for each Ramlila
  • No Ramlila to be staged in containment zones

In an order, District Magistrate Mandip Singh Brar gave in-principle approval to 20 committees for holding Ramlila from tomorrow onwards on receipt of no-objection reports from the police.

He said detailed SOPs and conditions regarding the number of people in consonance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the UT Administration would be issued later.

As per the order, the timings of staging Ramlila will be from 8 pm to midnight. The sound system is to be played as per the instructions of the Environment Department. The organisers will submit a list of 25 able-bodied volunteers for each Ramlila.

The organisers will have to strictly comply with the SOPs, preventive measures and guidelines issued by the UT Administration from time to time with regard to the festival season failing which action will be initiated against the violators. No Ramlila will be staged in containment zones.

The applications of certain other committees are still pending before the authorities. Last year, the Administration gave permission to 47 committees to stage Ramlila.
