20-year-old youth suffers head injury in accidental fire at party

The victim, Bhupinder Singh, a native of Ludhiana, visited his friend Gurinder Singh’s house a day earlier, as he was to visit Panjab University for admission. Sources said Bhupinder, Gurinder and Anurag Singh, along with six other unidentified persons, were partying at home when Anurag reportedly took out his weapon and unloaded it. While loading it again, the weapon went off with the bullet hitting the victim in the head.
Bhupinder’s friends rushed him to a private hospital in Mohali where his condition is stated to be serious.
His family was informed, after which his father rushed to the private hospital. On a statement of the victim’s father, Jagjeet Singh, a case has been registered against Aligarh resident Anurag Singh under Sections 110 of the BNS and Arms Act at the City Kharar police station. The victim’s father reported that Anurag fled the spot and appropriate action should be taken against him.
