Polling will be held on December 14, while counting of votes will be conducted at Dera Bassi, Mohali and Kharar for Dera Bassi, Majri and Kharar Panchayat Samitis, respectively on December 17.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Komal Mittal today reviewed the electineering and overall preparedness for the Panchayat Samiti elections in district in a meeting with the police and other concerned officers.
During the review, the DC directed all officials to ensure that the election process is conducted in a free, fair and impartial manner by fostering a fearless and transparent environment for voters.
Stressing the need for foolproof arrangements, Mittal directed that adequate security and necessary facilities be ensured at all polling booths and counting centers, including the installation of CCTV cameras. She also directed the officials to maintain extra vigil at 57 identified sensitive polling booths.
Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-Additional District Election Officer Sonam Chaudhary, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Geetika Singh and SP (Investigation) Saurav Jindal, along with other officers, were present in the meeting.
