In recognition of their services during the Covid-19 pandemic, the UT Administration has decided to honour 168 officials with a commendation certificate on Independence Day.

The Administration would also honour 33 associations, NGOs and 10 private persons, including Vinod Kumar alias Sonu, Kamaljit Singh Panchi, for providing food, ration and other support to city residents during lockdown.

Among the government officers/officials are: Rakesh Kumar Popli, Anil Kumar Garg, Sudhanshu Gautam, Satish Kumar Jain, Vira, Manish Kumar Lohan, Sorabh Kumar Arora, Harjeet Singh Sandhu, RK Chaudhary, Varun Beniwal, Rajiv Tewari, Ajay Tondon, etc.

Among the frontline warriors, 21 police personnel, including Dilsher Singh and Krishan Kumar, and 33 health officials, including Dr Ram Samujh and Dr Rashmi Ranjan Guru, from PGIMER, Dr Dasari Harish and Dr Sonali Shamdasani from GMCH-32, and Dr Paramji Singh and Dr Amandeep Kang from the Health Department, will be awarded on the occasion. — TNS
