22 hookahs recovered from Panchkula bars this year

The Panchkula police have recovered 22 hookahs from various bars across Panchkula since the beginning of this year.
The police have registered cases aginast the bars where hookas where found and they have also arrested five club directors for violations of orders that banned the use of hookah in the city.
Officials from the police department said teams have been raiding clubs, lounge bars, hotels and restaurants in the city to nab anti-social elements.
The police registered 39 cases against club operators and arrested 80 operators in 2023. Officials of the department recovered 331 hookahs from them.
The police said this year, as of today, 22 hookahs from various hookah bars have been recovered, and five club directors have been arrested.
Police Commissioner Sibash Kabiraj said police teams have been deputed to the city to constantly monitor the situation. He said the police have also imposed Section 144, banning hookah in Panchkula. He said, “Action is being initiated against clubs, bars, lounge bars, hotels and restaurants that have been found violating the ban orders.”
