24 more micro-containment zones declared in Chandigarh

To curb the spread of the deadly disease, the UT Administration on Thursday has declared 24 more micro-containment zones in the city.

UT Adviser Manoj Parida said, that the issue of the outbreak of COVID-19 was examined by a committee, and they have acknowledged that the affected areas should be declared as micro-containment zones.

Affected areas:

Parts of Sector 7, 15, 19, 20, 24, 27, 32, 33, 35, 37, 39, 41, 44, 46, Mauli Complex, Ramdarbar, Phase 2, New Indira Colony, Indira Colony and Pipliwala Town.

On September 16, 27 areas were declared as micro-containment zones.

Parida added, that regular screening and monitoring of the areas would continue, and frequent sanitization of the areas would also be conducted.

Residents were advised to strictly maintain social distancing norms, wear masks and follow hand hygiene.

New micro-containment zones:

Sectors 7, 15, 19, 20, 24, 27, 27, 32, 33, 35, 37, 39, 41, 44, 44, 46, and 46. Mauli Complex, Ram Darbar-II, Ram Darbar-II, New Indira Colony, Indira Colony 398-411, Pipliwala Town, and Pipliwala Town.
