27-year-old man stabbed in broad daylight near Sector 23 parking lot

A 27-year-old man was injured on being stabbed by a group of assailant in broad daylight in Sector 23-C here on Wednesday.

In a complaint to the police, 17-year-old Ishan Singh Dhillon, a resident of Parch village in Mohali. stated that his friend Gantavya Dev was stabbed near a parking lot in Sector 23-C by a group of persons, including Rajay Gandhi, Aditya, alias Gautam and Rajat. The identity of other assailants was being ascertained.

Dhillon said he and Dev had argument had an argument with the suspects during a volleyball match at a school in Sector 16.

Following the attack, the victim was rushed to the PGIMER, Chandigarh, where he is currently undergoing treatment for stab wounds. His condition is stated to be stable.

A case under Sections 190, 191(2), 191(3), 115(2), 118, 126, and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertain to conspiracy, unlawful assembly, criminal intimidation, and grievous assault, has been registered at the Sector 17 police station. The police said the investigation in the case was underway. They were also scanning CCTV footage procured from the vicinity and questioning local witnesses to piece together the sequence of events.
