2K apply for admission to colleges in Chandigarh

Over 2,000 students applied for various courses in the local colleges on the Day 1 of online admissions to 12 colleges today.

According to the information, 2,115 students applied through the Director Higher Education portal.

As many as 451 students applied for admission to BA (year I) in local government colleges and 751 students applied to local private colleges. Around 639 students applied for BCom, 302 for BBA, 214 for BCA, 34 applied for BSc (Medical) and 76 students applied for BSc (non-medical). It is for the first time that admission to all courses in local colleges will be conducted through an online mode.

According to the joint prospectus, the last date for submission of forms for all courses is August 3 (Monday). The list of all applicants will be displayed on August 5 by 4 pm, while the submission of discrepancies by applicants will be allowed till August 7 by 1 pm. The list of eligible applicants will be displayed on August 8 by 4 pm. The list of colleges allotted to applicants will be displayed on August 13 by 5 pm.
