The police have arrested three men under the Arms Act and recovered two country-made pistols and seven live cartridges.

Acting on secret tip-off, Head Constable Dinesh Kumar and his team intercepted a suspect near Tech Mahindra Road, IT Park, on September 18. The man, identified as Pawan (26) and a resident of New Indira Colony, Chandigarh, was found carrying a country-made pistol and a live cartridge without any licence or permit. He was taken into custody.

During questioning, Pawan revealed the names of his associates, leading the police to the arrest of Mantu (36), a resident of Bhankar village in Mohali, and Arvinder Singh (25) of Pipliwala Town, Manimajra.

A pistol and four live cartridges were recovered from Mantu, while Arvinder was found in possession of two live cartridges.
