3 convicted of bootlegging
Chandigarh, December 31
A local court has convicted three persons in separate cases of illegal sale of country-made liquor. A fine of Rs 1,200 each has been imposed on them.
The convicts have been identified as Rahul Kumar (24), a resident of Sector 38 (West), Rajesh Kumar, a resident of a jhuggi in Sector 25, and Manoj (37), a resident of Dadu Majra Colony. According to the prosecution, Rahul Kumar was arrested at Shahpur Colony on July 20. Rajesh Kumar was found selling liquor illegally near the Motor Market in Sector 38 (West) on July 15. Manoj was arrested on January 24 from near Karan Taxi Stand in Sector 38 (West). — TNS
