Chandigarh: The city recorded another big single-day spike of this month with 296 testing positive for Covid-19 cases on Sunday, taking the number of active cases to 2,633. With three more deaths, the toll has reached 377. The UT tally now stands at 26,194. A total of 192 patients were reportedly cured of the virus in the past 24 hours. —TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
