The suspects, identified as Satinderpal Singh, Avneet Singh, both residents of Sector 70, and Jasmeet Singh, a resident of Sunny Enclave in Kharar, were arrested when they were allegedly creating a ruckus in front of a liquor shop. When cops on patrol duty, including Mataur SHO Inspector Rajiv Kumar, tried to stop them, the trio sped away in their car after hitting the police vehicle. After a brief chase, the cops nabbed them.

The suspects again abused the policemen and even tore the uniform of a gunman of the SHO, said the police.

Inspector Rajiv Kumar said, “Firstly, they hit our vehicle and then attacked us. The suspects were in an inebriated state and were hurling abuses at the police.”
